When to engage
Signs this work package could help.
You do not need a finished scope. If one of these sounds familiar, it is a reasonable time to talk.
- Program data lives in several systems and spreadsheets that do not agree with each other.
- Your team rebuilds the same report by hand every reporting cycle.
- The client has asked for performance measures or dashboards that do not exist yet.
- You are not confident the numbers in your reports are complete or current.
Deliverables
What we can deliver.
Each engagement is scoped with your team. These are typical deliverables; the final list, responsibilities, and acceptance criteria are agreed in writing before work begins.
Data source inventory
A list of the systems and files involved, what each contains, who owns it, and how often it changes.
Measure definitions
Plain-language definitions for each performance measure, including the calculation and the source of each value.
Data connections
Repeatable connections or extracts that bring the needed information together instead of copying it by hand.
Dashboards and reports
Reports and dashboards built for the audiences that use them, from delivery teams to program leadership.
Data-quality checks
Checks that flag missing, duplicate, or inconsistent records so they can be corrected at the source.
Documentation and handoff
Instructions for maintaining the reports and connections after our work package ends.
How we work as your subcontractor
Your program. Our defined scope.
We start by agreeing on the questions the reporting needs to answer, then work back to the data.
We work within the platforms and access permissions your program and client have approved.
Measure definitions are reviewed with your team before reports are built, so everyone reads the numbers the same way.
Questions
Frequently asked questions.
- Do we need a new reporting platform?
- Not necessarily. We usually start with the tools your program and client already use. If a change is worth considering, we explain the tradeoffs so you can decide.
- What if our data is messy?
- That is normal. Part of the work is identifying gaps and inconsistencies, adding checks, and agreeing on how to handle records that do not match.
- Who owns the reports when you are done?
- Ownership is agreed in the work package. We provide documentation and handoff so your team can maintain what we build.
- Can you start with one report?
- Yes. A focused first report or dashboard is a practical way to test measure definitions and data connections before expanding.
